Hudson, Ohio (July 23, 2009) – Summit Charitable Events Foundation is pleased to announce a $25,000 donation to the Humane Society of Greater Akron as a result of the second annual Hudson Wine Festival.

Held July 17 – 19, 2009 in the First & Main shopping area, the Hudson Wine Festival brought well over 5,000 people to downtown Hudson to sample over 250 wines. Guests also enjoyed musical entertainment, delectable food, more than 30 vendors and artists and adoptable animals from the Humane Society of Greater Akron (HSGA).

“We are proud to produce such an amazing event that allows us to give back to the community in so many ways. The Hudson Wine Festival has become the third largest event in Hudson and we look forward to growing the event for 2010 and giving back in more ways than ever,” said Debra Sherman, Hudson Wine Festival, event producer.

Through the Hudson Wine Festival, six cats and two dogs found loving homes and several other adoptions are pending. “We are grateful for the continued support of the Hudson Wine Festival as this money allows us to continue our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for abandoned, abused, ill and injured animals in Summit County,” said Christine Shock, Director of Community Relations for the Humane Society of Greater Akron. “We were also excited that so many attendees of the wine festival brought their dogs to the event. The animals captured the synergy that Summit Charitable Events Foundation and HSGA are creating with this event and it distinguishes the Hudson Wine Festival from other area events,” continued Shock.

Plans are already underway for the third annual Hudson Wine Festival which will be held July 16 – 18, 2010. For more information on becoming a part of the Hudson Wine Festival, please contact Debra Sherman at 330-256-8704 or visit www.hudsonwinefestival.com.
